Te Kauwhata Community Garden
The Community Garden is located on Mahi Rd opposite the primary school field. It is maintained by volunteers and supported by local schools. Harvested kai is shared with the community via the Pātaka Kai on the corner of Wira St and Waerenga Rd.

Te Kauwhata's Children's Day - Splash'n Dash
We celebrate National Children's Day each year with a free family event at Te Kauwhata Domain. Splash'n Dash is held on the first Sunday of March each year from 10am to 2pm. Many community stakeholders donate time, funds and goods to make this possible. Everything is free and everyone is welcome. Join us for all sorts of slippery slidey fun including water slides, team games, inflatables, pre-school area, art stations, foam spray and more.
Luncheon Club for Seniors
Luncheon Club for Seniors is held on the second Friday of the month at the Te Kauwhata Bowling Club. Enjoy a delicious two course meal and great company. $10 per person plus $2 for a raffle ticket. Bookings are essential so phone Te Kauwhata Community House on 826 4303 to reserve your seat.
Toi Ako Artspace
Toi Ako is the branch of the Community House that brings the community together through creativity. We run classes, clubs and events for children, youth, adults and seniors. Some come to learn new skills, some come for social connection, all enjoy the many benefits the arts bring to our wellbeing.
Our regular programmes include Arts for All, Creative Kids, Weaving Roopu, Knit & Natter, Te reo Māori, Toi Māori based Craft & Communi-tea in Meremere, Community Choir, Ukulele Club, Youth Drop In, Guest workshops, Art in the Community ,Whānau Art Nights, School Holiday Workshops and more. All of our programmes are koha based or subsidised.

During term time we welcome youth at the Toi Ako Artspce for Youth Drop In every Friday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. Each week we offer a new creative experience and a safe space for rangatahi to be themselves. Term programmes are available on our website and social media.
Toi Ako Youth also deliver community events for youth and their whānau. Look out for King of the Court Basketball Competition and SKATEFEST at the Village Green.

The building at 2 Main Road, currently tenanted by Aparangi House of Treasures is owned by Te Kauwhata Community House. Profits made from rent of this building are returned to the community through contestable grants. Our last grant round was held in 2023. We distributed $20,000 across the following organisations:
