Neighbourhood Support Te Kauwhata

Neighbourhood Support is a nationwide community-led movement that brings people and neighbourhoods together to create safe, resilient, and connected communities. We believe that a well-connected community helps to improve safety, resilience, and wellbeing for all.
Our Te Kauwhata branch of Neighbourhood Support is hosted by Te Kauwhata Community House, which shares a similar vision of "a well and connected community encouraging wellness in people and place".
You are welcome to contact the team at the Community House weekdays from 9.30am to 4pm on a Neighbourhood Support matter. There is also a weekly dedicated Neighbourhood Support clinic on Wednesdays 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
As a Neighbourhood Support group we aim for;
A safer community by
- strengthening the community's relationship with the Police
- encouraging the reporting of crime and suspicious behaviour
- promoting crime prevention and sensible security precautions
- raising the profile of neighbourhood support in our area
A connected community through
- sharing information through a fortnightly e-newsletter
- collaborating with other community organisations
- hosting and/or participating in community events
- encouraging people to take initiative in building positive relationships in their streets and neighbourhood
- volunteering in times of need
